My graduate training at the University of Pittsburgh has included supervised clinical experience with the following modalities:
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for mood and anxiety disorders and chronic pain
- Unified Protocol for emotional disorders (UP)
- Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
- Interpersonal therapy (IPT)
- Exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD
- Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for PTSD
- Written exposure therapy (WET) for PTSD
- Traditional and radically open dialectical behavior therapy (DBT, RO-DBT) skills groups
I have provided individual and group psychotherapy to adults in the following settings:
- Outpatient department clinic
- Behavioral health outpatient services within an academic medical center
- VA-based PTSD specialty care clinic
- Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient eating disorder treatment programs
Future clinical training goals
I would like to continue to gain experience providing evidence-based treatment to adults with anxiety- and trauma-related disorders, with a developing specialization in PTSD treatment. I would also like to receive more advanced training in modalities that complement trauma-focused care, including DBT skills for emotion regulation and CBT and ACT for chronic pain. I am interested in working with more acute and complex presentations and collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams in medical settings.
Cultural humility
I strive to implement a culturally humble lens in my clinical work and attend to the ways in which my own cultural identities interact with those of my clients. I incorporate my curiosity about my clients’ intersecting identities into my case conceptualizations, participation in supervision, and therapeutic style. I am always learning more about systems of oppression that may impact my clients, as well as the ways in which different identities may be sources of individuality, community, and resilience.
